Charles Reid Barnes Life Membership Award (ASPB 2020 Nominations)


Brian is the Associate Vice Chancellor of Life Sciences (Emeritus) at UNL and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. During his tenure he was instrumental in recognizing the importance of data and computing in the life sciences, and establishing the Quantitative Life Sciences Initiative and the PhD program in Complex Biosystems. He advocated tirelessly for interdisciplinary research and training, and promoted the concept of integration and convergence across the life sciences. Brian is a fantastic mentor of graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty members. Congratulations on his latest achievement!
